Posting Once Monthly

Published by blogtips under Basics Edit This

Going against contrary (and popular) belief, there are some people that only have to write one post per month to be satisfied with their results. Not everyone has a need to do this, such as those who enjoy expressing their ideas to their readers, or want to take their blog to a whole new level.

Think about it this way (if all things worked in your favor): would you want to spend five hours creating a single, lengthy post, or have to slave over five posts that take all of five minutes to create, but every day. Personally, I’d rather publish the single post to my site, as it would create the “same” impact as the hundreds of other posts that you could have published.

This is a technique that will work for some, while for sites that cover frequently updated products and developments or news stories, this would not be able to be used.

I would also advice going against this if you plan on keeping your readership and regular, return visitors. People want to see updated content every once in a while, and avoiding this main fact would only hurt you unless you are a world-known blogger that has revolutionary ideas.

Finding the right number of posts and time to balance the need for this “demand,” you could be left struggling. While on the same topic, I want to say that you should only publish as much as you are able to handle, at least initially. I would like to say that we can all type, let alone think, at a thousand words a minute, but it isn’t technically possible. You have to be a good balancer of all the factors and points that you put into your blog.

All in all, making sure that you have the right level of content is important, as your readership and traffic levels depend on it.
