How Blogging Can be So Natural
Some people just get blogging. Others have an extremely difficult time getting started, learning how to accomplish even the most basic of tasks that others were able to breeze through. Both of these people could have had the same backgrounds, but some just took a different perspective when they began looking at starting their blog.
I don’t want to get into the exact science of marketing and promoting a new blog, as it varies between each person and you will never be able to develop the exact formula for getting your blog to be successful. However, you can be sure that you will get on the right path if you follow a few common principles:
1. Think of your writing as a product that you have to market and promote as better than anyone else’s.
2. Your visitors are real people who may or may not be interested in what you are writing about and will only subscribe, purchase ads, or click on ads if they find something that really interests them.
3. When you are doing poorly, your visitors can see this – anything from less posts, an increase in advertisements, and low-quality content are all signs that you have lost interest in your blog.
4. Advertisements help supplement, not really replace, the time that you have put into your blog. Some bloggers spend hundreds of hours each month writing on their blog, but do not want to make a single cent from their efforts. Then, there are others that are able to work for “just an hour” each week and generate thousands.
Over time, I will be sharing more ideas with you about promoting your blog, but these were just a few common ideas to keep in mind. Relating your blog and its visitors/subscribers to real life/people can really help improve your idea of what you are really trying to do, than “writing for yourself.”
