Follow Other People

Published by blogtips at 3:18 pm under Basics Edit This

Blogging is all about relationships.  If you can’t make it as a blogger, that means that you haven’t networked, connected, and extended your reach to other people.  In some cases, you will have to make compromises - should I contact this person or avoid him or her due to conflicts of interest?

Distinct trends are created everyday throughout the “blogosphere,” and you have to be aware of them.  Just like the previous post, if you don’t make the right decisions, you will be forced to deal with them until you have reached a point where you can’t “deal with them anymore.”  The same concept applies to the relationships/connections you make with other bloggers.

The main idea is that unless you “copy” what other people are doing, you won’t be able to become successful.  Despite the need to be creative, some people are unwilling and unable to do this, resulting in people that simply follow the trends.

Now, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing - some blogs have only become successful for modeling after the success of others.  Once you have established that you are going to be successful, you will be able to pursue your aspirations and dreams.  The more people you connect with, the more “help” you’ll receive, in turn leading to higher results.

Great tip! I think sometimes because I am working alone at home I forget that I am still building relationships with people-I just do not see them face to face. I am new to blogging and am always interested in new tips or things to try. Have a great day and enjoy the holidays!

@carfor12 - Thank you for your comment. Creating relationships allows your blog to grow faster, even if the other people aren’t “A-listers.” People work better in groups too, so you could also apply this to your blog and invite other people to write for you.
