Ensure that Your Blog is Updated
An outdated or not recently updated post is a sure giveaway that there is no one behind the scenes attending to the blog. When people see this, they are more likely to leave, thus drawing traffic and value away from your blog.
How do you ensure that it stays updated?
First of all, post at least once per week (preferably daily) and reply to nearly all valuable comments. Don’t let comments get out of hand with spam - this is a key giveaway that you can’t manage your own blog.
Secondly, update your blog theme and sidebar occasionally in order to give it a fresher look. There are very few website that haven’t undergone several facelifts since they were first introduced.
Finally, plan; plan; plan. When you plan, you are more likely to have a blog that remains updated on schedule with posts in queue for publishing days or even weeks before the date actually rolls around.
